STAFF

I, Ms. Leila Abouzeenni, founded the school in 2021. I earned my BSc from the University of Waterloo in 2004, and my BEd from Nipissing University in 2005. I am registered with the Ontario College of teachers, oct.ca with registration number 485525, and have been a member in good standing since 2005. I have taught math, general science, physics, chemistry and biology for grades 6-12 for 18 years now. I have taught in Ontario, Alberta, Egypt and the UAE. I would like to think of myself as a well rounded educator who can pull from many different experiences to help her students.

Our primary teacher, Ms. Maysa' Al Moghrabi, completed her teacher training in Lebanon and holds a teaching certificate in both kindergarten and primary education. She earned her BT from the Vocational and Technical Institute of Bekaa. She is currently working towards registering with the Ontario College of teachers. She has over 8 years of teaching experience, and we all see how much the children love her. She enjoys bringing them joy as they learn and they appreciate the way she teaches through play.

Ms. Arwa earned her hospitality degree at the prestigious Princess Alia College in Jordan. She is a mother of 4 and after immigrating to Canada took on the responsibility of raising her children to withhold good Muslim values and maintain the Arabic language. She holds classes for her children everyday after school, where they practice reading Arabic and reciting Quran. Her reputation precedes her, and many families reach out to her to tutor their children one on one. She works with pronunciation, letter recognition and Quran memorization.

Ms. Sharifa Hajar is also a native Arabic speaker, born in Kuwait before moving to Lebanon at 10 years old, she has a strong grasp over both languages and is fluently bilingual. She is a mother of 3 and has cycled through various methods to teacher her children Arabic in a secluded Western community. She has taught her children herself, brought in other teachers, and ran various educational experiments. Her confidence with the English language makes her a strong team member as students feel comfortable approaching her.

Br. Saad Siddiqui graduated from Chemical Engineering from the University of McMaster in 2015 and currently works as an Analytics Consultant. He was inspired to study Islam at a deeper level and graduated from Bayyinah Arabic Dream Program in 2017 in Dallas Texas. He is memorizing the Quran with Sh. Ahmad Hassan from Egypt and has completed 15 juz. He has been involved in the Milton Muslim community for many years, teaching kids Quran, Islamic studies, and Arabic. He gives Kuthbah at the Muslim Association of Woodstock and leads halaqaath on Tajweed and Tafseer. He has passion for teaching kids and likes to make his classes fun and interactive while pushing kids to learn and grow. He is excited to be Part of Oxford County Islamic School.
